USER TESTING

During this project user testing was conducted twice with both the lo-fi and hi-fi prototype. Our goal was to test the user experience between our target audience and the app. 

OUR APPROACH

  • Moderated usability testing

​

  • In Retrospective Think Aloud (RTA) method

​

  • Testing was conducted over remote video calling and screen sharing.

​

  • A total of 8 participants were tested each time.

​

  • Testing was approximately 30 minutes per participant.

​

  • We measured how the participant navigated through the layout and how many times they visited pages and other parts of the app.

SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT

  • Font types and size could be more consistent across different sections. 

​

  • Emergency contact and case numbers should stand-out to attract attention. 

​

  • The chatbot function feels hidden and unclear; the font size is a bit small. 

​

  • The stats are easy to understand, but there was too much information.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK

  • Clear and easy to use layout

​

  • UI elements including Menu bar and icons are easy to navigate through

​

  • Looks trendy and vibrant with various types of visual content such as infographics and images.

​

  • Plenty of useful information under a well-organized structure

WHAT WE CHANGED

​Design & layout

​

  • Unified and adjusted font size and font weight to make the interface more consistent

​

  • Refined emergency contact icon; added animation effect to case numbers

​

  • Added chatbot to home screen and re-designed the layout of the chatbot

​

  • Refined daily podcast graphic design

​User interaction​

​

  • Refined screen transitions

​

  • Re-designed the interaction of chatbot and statistics. 

​

  • Added horizontal scrolling
